Our pasta tastes pretty similar to a chickpea or lentil pasta. Just cook it as you would normal pasta - in a large pot of salted boiling water.
In terms of texture, it is al dente (due to the lack of starch and carbohydrates!). You can cook the pasta longer for a softer pasta if you prefer. At 7-10 minutes our pasta is al dente. At 12-13 minutes, our pasta should get pretty soft!
We invite you to experiment with cooking times to find the right cook time for you and your family.
We always start with high quality lupin bean flour as our first ingredient. We also use fava bean protein, tapioca starch, and xanthan gum. You can find an image of our nutrition label on the back of our packaging located on our website.
In short, instead of regular flour or semolina, we use lupin bean flour! Lupin beans are versatile, low in carbs, and have a great nutrition profile. They have long been considered a superfood and pack a ton of protein, fiber, and nutrients.
Our pasta contains only 6 net carbs. Net carbs are calculated by taking the total carbohydrates in the product (in this case 21) and deducting the total dietary fiber (in this case 15). 21 grams of total carbohydrates, minus 15 grams of total dietary fiber, results in 6 net carbs.
Our product have only 6 net carbs and can be a good option for those on the ketogenic diet. As always, consult your doctor or nutritionist when making decisions.
In a large pot of boiling water, add a generous amount of salt, add your pasta and cook to your desired firmness. We recommend tasting the pasta anywhere between the 7-9 minute mark to see if it is to your liking. If you prefer a softer pasta, cook it for a few more minutes (closer to 12-13 minutes). Taste buds and preferences can vary by person, and cook times can be affected by several factors including temperature, your stove, and even your altitude!
We have a lot of customers with diabetes that enjoy our products. As always, consult your doctor to determine if a particular food is right for you.
While all of our ingredients are certified kosher, our final products are not yet certified kosher. We are working to obtain our kosher certification.
Our pasta does not use any top 8 allergens as an ingredient. Our pasta contains lupin beans. Our pasta is manufactured in a facility that may produce products with other allergens.
Our pasta is made in the United States.
Our pasta is shelf stable and is best enjoyed within 9 months of your purchase. Please store pasta bags in a cool, dry space to best maintain freshness.
We will do everything we can to make our product more affordable over time. At this time, there are three factors:
1. Lets face it, higher quality ingredients are expensive! Our ingredients are naturally more expensive compared to normal starchy ingredients. Due to the current economic environment, prices have almost doubled for many of our ingredients over the last year.
2. We take zero shortcuts. We only purchase the highest quality ingredients from reputable suppliers who have the highest quality standards. We tried and tested a number of ingredients during our testing, and in many cases chose the more expensive option in order to provide you with the best possible product.
3. Finally, we are a smaller company and dont have the scale or resources of big food companies. As we grow and purchase at more scale, we will hopefully be able to pass along those savings to our consumers.
If we have pasta in stock, we generally fulfill all orders within 48 hours of your purchase. Once shipped, the average transit time is 3-4 days, though some orders may take up to 5-6 days depending on where you live.
We wish we didn’t have to, but unfortunately shipping is super expensive. We only charge a nominal shipping fee and contribute even more on top of what you pay for shipping. We try to keep shipping costs as low as possible while also providing super fast shipping.
